A number of renovation projects from classrooms to community campus spaces are in order for this 75-acre campus located at the base of Mount Diablo in Danville. The accredited college preparatory private boarding and day school has approximately 500 students between sixth and 12th grades. As the school has outgrown its existing and outdated facilities, Athenian is actively transforming their campus buildings to integrate new technology and flexible learning spaces that physically adapt and encourage collaboration and hands-on learning experiences.
DAHLIN designed the new commons building located at the heart of campus grounds. This facility is meant to serve as a vibrant activity center providing student services from counseling and meeting areas to a central student lounge with a service hub for gathering, socializing and retrieving mail. The project is designed to meet new CalGreen building codes, and will integrate new sustainable technologies in materials, lighting, energy and water as part of Athenian's commitment to environmental sustainability.
Tenant improvements to Athenian's Ridgeview Dorm are also underway.
