Project completed by Rodriguez Park Architecture and Planning
The 8,500-square-foot two-story structure houses San Diego City College’s Teleconference Center and Distance Learning classrooms. Intended to serve as a transitionary element linking the campus and the community, a landmark structure was integrated as a gateway to the campus. Overlooking Downtown San Diego, it was positioned on a prominent wooded slope, and connected the lower level of the site with the upper level plaza where the main campus buildings are.
The facility includes a lobby space which serves as a gallery for exhibitions and receptions, kitchen to support catered functions, and faculty offices with classrooms and a teleconferencing center.
