Located in the southwest side of Haishuwan International Leisure Resort, the South China Ocean Ecological Community is envisioned to provide academics and training in health and hospitality within an internationally inviting, hands-on learning environment, to the direct benefit of Hainan’s tourism economy. Leveraging educational opportunities while cultivating a climate of wellness and service, has reciprocating long-term benefits for the related industries.
The South China Ocean Ecological Community centers on the Shimlong Reservoir, which covers an area of approximately 29.9 hectares. As dictated by the regional master plan, development parcels have been identified for education and resort development with building height restrictions and development intensities generally at their greatest along the eastern portion of the project site. The community is organized into three distinct programmatic zones: a health campus to the west, hotel campus to the east, and wellness resort enclaves that provide an array of resort housing.
Targeted for education, the first phase of development is complete and home to the Hospitality Institute of Sanya (HIS), where students learn from hands‑on experiences and opportunities to cultivate their academic training.
